Primary Care staff across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes are now able to access a new app designed to give each person the power to be resilient, live with confidence and transform their life.

The “ShinyMind: Resilience App”, which was implemented by Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care System (BLMK ICS), has been five years in the making and has already demonstrated its effectiveness in real-life situations encountered by NHS staff working on the frontline before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The app is open to all general practice, community pharmacy, dental and optometry staff and aims to enable the app’s users to think, feel and perform better, by giving them access to:

  • Over 100 personalised masterclasses to guide self-exploration, stimulate learning, self-awareness, reflection and growth.
  • Instant support through interactive exercises, such as Mood baths, coping well and signposting to further help.
  • Their own personal profile space and community.
  • Breathing exercises and Meditations

Janet Thornley, GPN Strategic Lead, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care System, said: “NHS staff have been faced with some very hard times over the past few years, so it is incredibly important that our staff can access wellbeing support and therapy when they need it. This is a fantastic app that will allow our staff to access resilience strategies instantly on their phone.”

“There is something for everyone on the app, depending on how you are feeling and what help you may need and it’s very easy to use.”

If you are working in general practice, community pharmacy, primary care dental or optometry settings and are interested in downloading the app, you can register your interest using the link below or you can scan the QR code below.
