Residents across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes are being asked to put forward their views on how they would like to be involved to help shape health services in the future.

Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Health and Care Partnership brings together local organisations working together to support and improve health and wellbeing in communities in our area.  The aim of the partnership is for everyone in our towns, villages and communities to live a longer, healthier life. The views of local people will help the partnership build a plan for the future and make sure that no decisions are made without involving local people.

Jane Meggitt, Director of Communications and Engagement for BLMK CCG said;

“It’s important that all voices are heard when health and care services are being developed, and the views of our communities are integral to the design of local services. Listening to local people is an important way to ensure people get what they need from local services, we’re therefore developing this approach to enable us to have continual conversations with our communities”

“During the pandemic NHS organisations joined up with local Councils, Public Health,  the Police, Fire Service, Healthwatch and the voluntary sector to reach into communities so that we could share advice and guidance and keep people safe. We also needed to hear from those communities so that we could learn from those living in them.  We want to build on this approach and strengthen relationships further, so that we can have regular conversations with our communities giving everyone a voice and the opportunity to be listened to, express their views and help co-design health and care services that meet the needs of our local communities.”

To help us shape our new approach, we want to start a conversation to hear from local people how they think we should involve and engage them in the future.
