Home » News » Walk-in Slots Open at Large Vaccination Centres
Starting on Saturday 5 November, the three largest vaccination centres will be offering walk-in slots to patients who are due for a further jab, or who wish to take up the vaccination offer for the first time. The centres are at:
The centres are open from Tuesday to Saturday every week for eligible patients of all ages. Opening hours vary; details are available at https://blmkhealthandcarepartnership.org/covid-19.
It is still also possible to book in advance to guarantee a specific appointment time, either online through the National Booking System online at nhs.uk or by calling 119.
Craig Lister, COVID immunisation and vaccination strategy lead at Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Health and Care Partnership, said:
“We know that some people can’t commit to a slot which they need to book a week or more in advance, so we’re pleased to have been able to respond to public demand by opening up walk-in availability at our largest vaccination sites, whilst bookable appointments will also continue. We also have bookable and walk-in slots available at participating pharmacies.
“COVID-19 hasn’t gone away. We are likely to see regular waves of infection for some time to come. Being vaccinated can help prevent further disruption your plans this winter, especially with the festive season coming up in just a few weeks’ time.
“Remember that we now have updated versions of the COVID-19 vaccine which target new coronavirus variants, known as a ‘bivalent’ vaccine, which have been approved for booster doses by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
“If you’re eligible for an autumn booster, or if you’ve not taken up the vaccine offer before, get your jab and make sure you’re protected.”
