Share for Care is a confidential, electronic system for sharing health and care records to improve health and care across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.

Information is brought together from all the different local organisations involved in your health and care. It means care providers can view contact details, medical history, test results, medications, allergies, and any support you’ve had from social care or mental health services.

A new video produced by Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Health and Care Partnership explains the benefits to local residents and features local doctors talking about how Share for Care is already helping them. BLMK Share for Care – benefits for residents

Dr Aamenah Hawash, a GP in Bedfordshire said: “The more information we have about your medical history as a patient, then the more safely and quickly we can deliver care. It means we aren’t putting burden on other services, clinicians or other members of staff to be chasing information that we already have.

“It saves a lot of time and appointments; it also saves a lot of frustration because we can provide much more consistent care when we have all of that information in one place.”

More care providers are expected to join Share for Care over time – which will mean even more information is available to health and care staff when they need it.
