The NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board became a statutory organisation on 1 July 2022.

The Integrated Care Board replaces the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group, which no longer exists.

NHS England is responsible for approving the constitution of the Integrated Care Board.

A policy for conflicts of interest management and standards of business conduct has been prepared. The Governance Handbook includes the membership of the Board’s committees.

Membership

Membership of the Integrated Care Board includes:

  • Independent Chair – Robin Porter
  • Three independent non-executive directors
  • Four executive directors
  • Partner members

Visit the Integrated Care Board website to view the full membership.

People wishing to become a Board member will need to meet certain standards. This includes passing the NHS ‘fit and proper person test’, as part of the employment standards check.

The Chair makes appointments to the Board.

A person could be disqualified from Board membership if they undermine the independence of the health service. This could be due to their involvement with the private healthcare sector, although it could be for other reasons.
