Martha Roberts has been appointed as the Chief People Officer for the NHS Bedfordshire, Luton, and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board.

Martha Roberts

Martha has a strong track record of working in organisation development and people and for the last year has been Director of People and Organisational Development for the Bedfordshire, Luton, and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the integrated care system.

During this time, Martha supported the development of the new integrated care partnership and the transition of the CCG team into the new Integrated Care Board.

Prior to this, Martha led the health and wellbeing and staff engagement work for the East of England NHS region and has held senior people and organisation development roles across the NHS.

Martha Roberts said:

“I am very pleased to be taking on this role. I am passionate about supporting the people who work in care and health to be their best. This role gives me the opportunity to support colleagues to work together to address inequalities across our area and to help build an ever-better place for them to work in.”

Speaking to confirm Martha’s role as Chief People Officer, Felicity Cox, Chief Executive of the Integrated Care Board said:

“Health and care services are first and foremost services of people and as we establish the new Integrated Care Board, it will be important to support staff, but also embed new working practices with colleagues from all partner organisations.

“Martha has already started to work with the new board members of the Integrated Care Board and the Integrated Care Partnership to support new ways of working and I am delighted to welcome her to the new team.”

The Integrated Care Board was established on 1 July 2022.
