On 09 February 2023, representatives from Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board (BLMK ICB) were pleased to attend the public meeting in Leighton Buzzard alongside representatives of Central Bedfordshire Council, the local Primary Care Network and Andrew Selous MP.

At the meeting, Felicity Cox and Dr Rima Makarem, Chief Executive and Chair of BLMK ICB, committed to keeping local residents updated on the ICB’s work with partners to support local health and care provision. The ICB’s Primary Care Team met with local Patient Participation Groups in February to this end.

As part of the ICB’s scoping of further health and care services in Leighton Buzzard, today we are pleased to confirm that external expert support has been commissioned to provide the detailed financial and technical advice required to progress this work. This follows conversations with Health Ministers about the potential release of value from NHS land off Vandyke Road in the town. This in-depth scoping work will be undertaken as quickly as possible, and the ICB looks forward to discussing the findings with partners and residents.

BLMK ICB remains committed to working with partners to deliver services that meet the growing health and care needs of local people, and which are affordable and sustainable in the long term.
