All people aged 12 and over with diabetes (type 1 and 2) are offered annual eye screening appointments.

The only exceptions are people with eye disease who are already under the care of an ophthalmology specialist. Diabetic Eye Screening is NHS annual screening programme and its part of your annual check. Please speak to your GP or nurse to get referral.

Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Diabetic Eye Screening

The BLMK Diabetic Eye Screening Programme provides NHS specialist diabetic eye screening across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK). This service is delivered by Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Milton Keynes University Hospital and conducts a quality assured screening at 20 locations across BLMK.
