It is always important to listen to what people want from their health and care services.

During the pandemic, we carried out a large-scale communications and engagement campaign to support the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccination programme. That campaign involved dialogue with many different local communities and interest groups so that we could understand our residents’ needs.

That conversation needs to continue so that we can build on the good work carried out during the first two years of the pandemic.

Involving residents at every stage

We are working with commissioners to listen to residents’ views and understand what is most important to them.

We are engaging with people and communities in a number of ways. This could be holding public events where people can give their views, to providing information in newsletters, podcasts and on social media.

Whenever we design new services, we will work collaboratively with residents and commissioners.

Working in partnership

Partnerships help us to be as effective as possible. We work with NHS organisations, local councils, Healthwatch, the Voluntary Sector Alliance and elected politicians to make sure local people shape the health and care services they receive.
