Dear patient

Important information about your GP surgery at 12 Goldington Road

I am writing as our records show that at least one person registered at your address is a registered patient with Dr Vidya Das at Goldington Road Surgery, 12 Goldington Road, Bedford. Dr Das currently holds the contract to provide medical services at the practice.

On 21 December 2023, Dr Das notified NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board (BLMK ICB) that she has taken the decision to resign her contract to deliver primary medical services with effect from 31 March 2024.

As a result of this news, we the Integrated Care Board (ICB) are currently working closely with Dr Das and other local GP practices to put arrangements in place so that all patients currently registered at Goldington Road Surgery can be re-registered at another local practice to ensure continuity of GP services from 1 April 2024.

What do I need to do?

At the moment you do not need to do anything. We will write to you again before the end of March 2024 with details of your new practice, but we wanted to reassure you that you will have uninterrupted access to GP services.

We will be supporting Dr Das and the rest of the team during this time whilst we continue to plan to the end of March.

We appreciate this is an uncertain time for you. If you have any questions or concerns, or if you require this information in another language or a different format, please email blmkicb.contactus@nhs.net or leave a voicemail message on telephone number 0800 148 8890 and someone will call you back.

Yours faithfully

Nicky Poulain

Chief Primary Care Officer
