Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Stoma Prescription Service

The Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Stoma Prescription Service launched on 1 June 2023. The service is designed to enhance the care that people with a stoma receive when ordering their stoma products.

It has replaced the Connect (LAMS) service in Luton. It is a new type of service for Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes.

If you have a stoma and you are registered with a GP practice in our area you are eligible to use the service.

The care you receive from your local hospital stoma nurse will remain the same.

The way you usually receive your stoma products and accessories (from your local pharmacy or delivered to your home by a Dispensing Appliance Contractor) will also remain the same.

The service will manage your prescription for stoma products (such as stoma bags, base plates, adhesive remover and barrier spray).

You can order your prescription from the new service by telephone, email or by ordering online.

The service is run by a team of personal advisors and specialist stoma nurses who will work closely with your local hospital stoma nurse. The service is delivered by Bullen Healthcare, a company which already runs NHS stoma prescription services in other places.

This patient information leaflet  provides more detailed information about the service. If you require this leaflet in another language or in an accessible format such as Braille or EasyRead, please contact the new service on the details below.
